Prishtina trail marathon

Prishtina Trail Marathon is the first marathon race of this kind to take place in Kosovo. Happening in Germia, the heart of green area of capital Prishtina, it is organized by “XTrailers” running club. The race is certified by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA).

Prishtina Trail Marathon invites runners to compete in the marathon distance – 42K, half-marathon distance – 21K, and the 10K distance. Kids will be running a distance of 1 kilometers.

Race Start

Prishtina Trail Marathon takes place in Germia national park located in Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo. The race starts on 26 May, 2019 at 09:00 hours for 42 km runners, 10:00 hours for 21 and 10 km runners, and 12:00 hours for Kids. It is recommended that the runners gather at the park gates at least an hour earlier. There will be a bag drop-off for all the participants at clearly marked areas. Runners will start their race in waves, depending on the distance.

Race Routes

Race routes go deep inside Germia national park. The terrain is mainly a soft hiking trail with only short distances of uneven gravel and asphalt. The park provides for plenty of shade during the route, especially at this time of the year where the green takes over the landscape. Germia offers inspiring scenery at the top of the hills with glimpses of the capital Prishtina and its surroundings, on one side, and remote villages spread around an artificial lake on the other.

Please follow detailed maps for every race distance to find more about the route, elevation, and other key information.

Xtrailers – ITRA

The ITRA (International Trail Running Association) aims to be the international voice of everyone involved in trail running.

The ITRA’s objective is to promote trail running, diversity, safety of runners, runners health and further development of trail running.

Since XTrailes share the same objective with the ITRA, our running group has applied and is not a full-rights member of the association, equal to all trail running clubs around the world.

The ITRA will also support XTralers in ensuring a constructive dialogue between national and international bodies that have a stake in the sport.
